The AkaZawa’s Desktop PLEN Robot is a 23 cm tall, roller skating robot that can be controlled from desktop software or via Bluetooth from a mobile phone.
It has a 32 bit ARM processor running at 33 MHz. Its built-in 3 axis accelerometer and 18 movable joints enable it to dance, walk, roller skate (forwards and backwards) and ride a skateboard. Other moves include picking up a large cube and tossing it, standing up after it falls down and a karate kick.
PLEN can skate on his own power for around 25 minutes. It is equipped with a USB/RS-232C interface along with Bluetooth.
The kit includes a Lithum ion battery pack, charger and a USB cable to connect with the PC. A pair of Roller Skates are also included in the kit. He charges up a la iPod through a USB cable.
